Dates and times are Barcelona local time (CEST/GMT+2), which is six hours ahead of US Eastern time. Any listed race times are for the Warning Signal, with the Starting Gun three minutes later. Actual times may be adjusted depending on weather conditions and other factors, at the Race Director's direction. Racing will not start before 2:00pm, per the match conditions.
Races are intended to be approximately 25-30 minutes long, and there is a time limit of 12 minutes for the first leg of the race and 45 minutes for an entire race.
Three or four races are intended per day during the Rounds Robin. Four races are intended each race day during the semi-final (two races per pair), alternating between series each race. Two races per day are intended during the LVC Final and the America's Cup, unless otherwise announced. In certain situations the Race Director may alter the schedule in relation to possible match-winning races.
The Race Director is specifically instructed to try not to have the Louis Vuitton Final end before October 3.
The America's Cup Match has no hard end date and no tie-break.
The "Best of 9" and "Best of 13" descriptions are nominal; the winner is actually determined by points earned, 1 point per race win until the designated 5 or 7 wins are reached.
Races indicated with an asterisk (*) are to be sailed only if needed.
Races indicated with double asterisks (**) are races that were ultimately not needed to decide the match.
Reserve Days, Schedule Adjustments, and Tie-Breaks
A "Reserve Day" may be used by for racing to keep the series on schedule if a previous race was not completed as planned. The Race Director makes this decision in consultation with the competitors. Some days have specific criteria per the official documents:
Unmarked days are "Off Days" for the America's Cup. They are not intended to be race days, but plans may be changed. Many of the days have other events scheduled, including the Youth America's Cup, the Women's America's Cup, and other special events. Those are not shown here.
