This is (was) the carbonfiber extension off the aft crossbeam of
GreenComm's AC45, which supports the aft HD camera for
television, plus other electronics, and also serves as seating
for the onboard guest.

Artemis got caught out, too, moving slowly when a second gust hit
and blew them over. Bowman Andy Fethers is dropping
feet-first from the upper hull through the wingsail in the photo
above, into the water, but was uninjured.

Righting Artemis. Though permitted outside assistance in event of
a capsize, the Swedes were unable to finished the course within
ten minutes of the leader's time and score as DNF (Did Not
Finish), but earn three points since they were able to start.
