Ashley Tobin Joins Sausalito Challenge

Sausalito Challenge 2007 welcomes Ashley Tobin to the team in the position of General Counsel and Rules Director. Tobin was with BMW Oracle Racing for the 2003 campaign and assisted in their transition to 2007 campaign.

Tobin's America's Cup experiences stem back to the days when her father, Toby Tobin, was involved (three-time sailor/navigator) as well as to her own sailing tryout for the 1995 All-Women's America's Cup team.

With BMW Oracle Racing, Tobin was primarily responsible for the legal aspects of the BMW sponsor relationship and was also a member of the Protocol Group. "Now that my work with the BMW-OR transition is complete, I am thrilled with the opportunity to participate with such an innovative team as Sausalito Challenge 2007," says Tobin. As a Bay Area sailor herself, Tobin relishes the idea of being based with the team in San Francisco.
