Back in Harness: The newly restored Bystander, which served as tender to all three of "Mike" Vanderbilt's America's Cup winners, Enterprise (1930), Rainbow (1934), and Ranger (1937), has the replica Ranger (at right) under tow in Newport, June 18, 2011.

Elizabeth Meyer, who has been the driving force behind resurrecting the J-Class yachts since the 1980s, seen here very appropriately at the wheel of the tender Bystander, whose restoration she also saw through to completion.  Ranger is under tow.  Bystander also tended to the America's Cup 12-Meters: Vim in the 1958 Defender Trials, and Challengers Gretel in 1962 and Dame Pattie in 1967.

J-Class upwind after the gun. In the pre-start, Ranger forced Velsheda to gybe away, getting Ranger off the line with a solid lead.
